Vacanze sulla neve. La prima parte del mio viaggio in Canton Vallese tra neve, acque termali, animali leggendari e paesaggi mozzafiato.

Il mese di novembre, quello dei cambiamenti. Le foglie colorano il suolo, il cielo si fa grigio e l’aria pungente. Le giornate si accorciano, le cime delle montagne in lontananza si colorano di bianco e l’inverno fa capolino da dietro l’angolo.

Per me novembre è il mese dei ricordi e delle pianificazioni. A novembre inizio a fantasticare sui prossimi viaggi e sulle vacanze sulla neve (beh in realtà per questo 2016 ho già pianificato un viaggio sulla neve e prestissimo te ne parlerò!). A novembre penso all’ultimo viaggio che mi ha portato sul tetto del mondo ed oggi ho deciso di raccontartelo.

Vacanze sulla neve: il mio diario di viaggio da Milano a Leukerbad in Canton Vallese

Ho sempre pensato che le vacanze sulla neve per eccellenza fossero quelle trascorse sulle Dolomiti (qui trovi tutti i miei viaggi sulle Dolomiti) ma dopo aver scoperto il Canton Vallese ho dovuto ricredermi.

Un cielo limpidissimo e azzurro come non mai, la neve fresca e morbida, il volo del leggendario Gipeto e le vette più alte sotto i nostri piedi. Pronto a scoprire con me tutto sulle vacanze sulla neve in Canton Vallese? Oggi ti porterò con me nella prima parte di questo viaggio in Svizzera da Milano a Leukerbad.

Sono le 8 del mattino, il sole splende e la stazione centrale di Milano è nel pieno della sua attività. Ci sono pendolari che corrono a destra e a manca, studenti con gli occhi socchiusi e poi ci sono io, Alice, con una valigia più grande di me piena di sogni e.. vestiti invernali!

Raggiungo il gruppo, il binario 1 ci attende, direzione, Canton Vallese Svizzera! In meno di due ore e con un cambio treno siamo a destinazione. Questo angolo di paradiso è in un altro stato ma è davvero vicino a Milano, la mia seconda città.

Scendo dal treno e i miei occhi iniziano a brillare. Ricordate il paese di Heidi, il cartone animato degli anni ’90? Beh credo che esista veramente, si chiama Leukerbad ed è in Canton Vallese. Centinaia di casette costruite in legno che lasciano posto a scorci di panorama che porterò per sempre con me.

Il tempo di lasciare i bagagli in hotel, indossare un completo da sci e siamo di nuovo in partenza (senza dimenticare l’attrezzatura da snowboard). Ci imbarchiamo su di un enorme funivia, saliamo velocemente e raggiungiamo il comprensorio sciistico del Torrent, con vista sui principali 4000 m vallesani (siamo davvero in alto!). Qui tra una discesa in Snowboard e un pranzo a base di specialità tipiche la giornata passa velocemente e in un battibaleno è già ora di rientrare.

 

Dopo una mattinata a base di shopping, cioccolate calde e chiacchiere tra amici è ora di indossare un bikini e lasciarsi coccolare dalle caldissime acque termali. Leukerbad è la più importante stazione termale di tutto l’arco alpino: qui ogni giorno sgorgano 3.9 milioni di litri di acqua termale.Ti consiglio Leukerbad Therme e Walliser Alpentherme & Spa, qui il panorama è davvero mozzafiato, specie al tramonto (qui ti racconto nello specifico tutto sulle terme di Leukerbad).

Dopo esserci gustati il tramonto dietro le vette più alte d’Europa ci dirigiamo verso i vigneti di Varen per una degustazione degli splendidi vini vallesani accompagnati da una cena da leccarsi i baffi.

Per l’ultimo giorno a Leukerbad raggiungiamo con la funivia la Gemmi, incredibile punto panoramico che anticamente rappresentava uno dei più importanti passaggi tra Sud e Nord della Alpi. Qui transitarono Goethe, Guy de Maupassant, Mark Twain, Lenin e Picasso. Scendiamo dall’immensa cabinovia e, tra un brindisi e un piatto tipico vista cielo abbiamo la fortuna di vedere il mitico Gipeto librarsi in volo proprio sopra di noi (è davvero rarissimo avvistarne uno!).

Dopo una pranzo in compagnia è ora di divertirsi: gli slittini ci attendono di fronte ad una pista lunghissima e… via! La zona è attrezzata ed è presente un’apposita cabinovia per gli slittini (mai vista in Italia!).

La sera cala velocemente, scendiamo a valle e ci mettiamo a letto. Tra pochissime ore saremo di nuovo in partenza per un’altra zona del Canton Vallese di cui ti parlerò prestissimo!

Skiing holidays. The first part of my trip to Canton Valais between snow and stunning scenery.

The month of November, that of change. The leaves color the ground, the sky turns gray and the air is cold. The days are shorter, the tops of the mountains in the distance are white and winter peeks around the corner.

For me, November is the month of memories and schedules. In November start to fantasize about upcoming trips and the holidays in the snow (well actually for 2016 I planned a trip on the snow and very soon I’ll tell you all!). In November I usually think about the last trip that took me to the roof of the world and today I decided to tell you all about it.

Skiing holidays: my travelogue from Milan to Leukerbad in Valais

I always thought that skiing holidays par excellence were those spent in the Dolomites (here all my trips in the Dolomites), but after discovering the Valais I had to change my mind.

A clear blue sky, fresh and soft snow, the flight of the legendary bearded vulture and the highest peaks beneath our feet. Ready to explore with me Valais? Today I will take you with me in the first part of this trip to Switzerland from Milan to Leukerbad.

It is 8 o’clock in the morning, the sun shines and the Milan Central Station is the height of its activities. There are commuters who run on the right and left, students with narrowed eyes and then there’s me, Alice, with a big suitcase full of dreams and .. winter clothes!

I reach for the group, the binary 1 lies ahead, direction Valais, Switzerland! In less than two hours and a train change we are at our destination. This piece of heaven is in another state but is really close to Milan, my second city.

I get off the train and my eyes begin to glow. Remember the country of Heidi, the cartoon of the 90s? Well I think actually exists, and it is called Leukerbad in Valais. Hundreds of houses built of wood that give way to panoramic views that will remain with me always.

The time to leave our luggages at the hotel, wearing a full ski and we are leaving again (without forgetting snowboarding gear). We embark on a huge cable car, fast climb and reach the ski area Torrent, overlooking the main 4000m Valais (we are really at the top!). Here in a downhill snowboard and a lunch of local specialties the day passes quickly and in a flash it’s time to return.

 

 

After a morning of shopping, hot chocolate and chat with friends it’s time to wear a bikini and let ourself be pampered by the steaming hot springs. Leukerbad is the largest spa in the entire Alps: here daily flow of 3.9 million liters of water.Try Walliser Alpentherme Leukerbad Therme & Spa, here the view is breathtaking, especially at sunset (here I’ll tell you all about spas of Leukerbad).

 

 

After we enjoyed the sunset behind the highest peaks of Europe we head to the Varen vineyards for a tasting of the wonderful Valais wines accompanied by a cool dinner.

 

 

For the last day in Leukerbad we reach by cable car the Gemmi, incredible scenic spot that once represented one of the most important steps between South and North of the Alps. Here passed through Goethe, Guy de Maupassant, Mark Twain, Lenin and Picasso. Here between a toast and a dish sky view we are lucky to see the legendary bearded vulture hovering in their flight above us (it’s really rare see one!).

 

 

After a lunch in the company it is now a good time: sledding ahead in the face of a very long track and … go! The area is equipped and is designed with a cable car for sledding (never seen in Italy!).

 

The evening falls quickly. Among the few hours we will be leaving again for another of the Valais Canton area of ​​which I will talk you soon!
